Since its inception, the number of "citizen reporters" writing for the site has grown from 700 to 36,000, contributing about 200 articles a day. About onemillion readers visit OhmyNews site each day. The site combines straight news reporting and commentary. It provides readers with opportunities to participate in its news production. By its innovative concept it has grown as themost influentialmedia in South Korea and startedmaking profits sinceSeptember 2003. As a result of its success inKorea, it decided to go international. It is to be seen whether its strategies will succeed or not.
